Carte Blanche Exhibit
Check out the photos from the opening of the Carte Blanche exhibition held at the DuPont™ Corian® Design Studio in NYC on May 16th 2010. The opening event was well-attended by a who's who list of internationally-renowned designers, media and members of the A&D community. Carte Blanche is a traveling exhibition that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Intramuros [magazine], the designers who have been featured on the cover of the magazine and the versatility of DuPont™ Corian®. The exhibition will travel next to Philadelphia during Design Philadelphia opening October 7, 2010.

School of the Art Institute of Chicago - Design with Corian®
DuPont™, in collaboration with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s (SAIC) department of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Designed Objects, showcased the student exhibition, “Objects That Entertain Us,” at the 2009 NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago during the week of June 15.
Inspired by the flexibility and design possibilities of DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces, DuPont™ and SAIC partnered to offer a three-credit, one-semester class to 16 of the most experienced and talented students in SAIC’s Designed Objects program. The class explored using Corian®, with its unique material qualities, to design digital and other technology-based interactive objects. The students’ designs were presented at NeoCon in the DuPont booth as working concepts.

During the week of ICFF, DuPont™, Evans & Paul and Dolan & Traynor launched the DuPont™ Corian® Design Studio in New York City.

During the week of June 8th, DuPont™ and C. H. Briggs opened the Philadelphia Design Studio. Designed by Harry Allen Design, the studio showcases the versatility and functionality of Corian® and Zodiaq® in three-dimensional applications using the latest design technologies. The Philadelphia studio is open to the public and architects and designers can schedule one-on-one appointments and learn more by visiting www.designstudio.corian.com/phila.

Every year, for its Guide to Building Products special issue, Builder magazine commissions an in-depth study surveying what brands builders recognize most, use most, how they rate the products' quality, and which companies are best at communicating with builders. DuPont™ Awarded "Green Approved" Product Seal from NAHB Research Center
DuPont™ has announced that products from its Building Innovations portfolio have received the coveted Green Approved Product Seal for National Green Building Certification by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center.
The third-party endorsement means that DuPont™ “Green Approved” products can now be used by builders to earn points toward certification to the National Green Building Standard™.
“Sustainability continues to be a critical strategic initiative for DuPont,” said Thomas F. Schuler, vice president and general manager – DuPont Building Innovations. “For us, sustainable building products are not just nice things to have; they are necessities. From our latest surfacing introductions to new building envelope innovations, this certification further demonstrates our commitment to providing sustainable solutions for the marketplace.” 
The DuPont™ Zodiaq® quartz surfaces Terra Collection received the Green Award due to its post consumer recycled content. In addition, all colors of DuPont™ Corian® solid surface and Zodiaq® quartz surfaces received approval for their ability to be used in vertical cladding applications. Products include:
- The DuPont™ Zodiaq® Terra Collection, a collection of quartz surfaces that contain post-consumer recycled content.
- DuPont™ Corian® Solid Surfaces and DuPont™ Zodiaq® Quartz Surfaces in wall cladding applications, all colors qualify.
DuPont - one of the first companies to publicly establish environmental goals 19 years ago - has broadened its sustainability commitments beyond internal footprint reduction to include market-driven targets for both revenue and research and development investment. e-architect July 2010 - Do to it's superior functionality and aesthetic qualities, DuPont™ Corian® is being used as a high-tech "dress" (external cladding) for the entire network of SOCAR's gasoline stations in Azerbaijan.
Surface and Panel May 2010 - Editor Laura Rowlett was especially taken with the fabrication techniques displayed in the Carte Blanche exhibition, commenting in her article that "the showcase includes a variety of fabrication techniques such as thermoforming, inlays, image sublimation, carving and routing, showcasing the flexibility and versatility of DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces."

These products, individually and in combination, are now GREENGUARD Indoor Quality Certified and also meet standards of GREENGUARD For Children & Schools. This is a source of competitive advantage for DuPont™ Surfaces, as we currently offer the only complete hard surfacing system that is certified to support Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).
